*curls up with my Lost Boys book and a bottle of Rum, Divides my attention between the Book and watching 300 on DVD*

Aah, This is goodness!
Mmeh, It's a Desktop as opposed to the Laptop I use to have... But a computer is a computer! I'm not going to fuss over that!!

Random thoughts on the 'Lost Boys' sequel...

Hmmm, I still have no doubt at ALL that the sequel is going to cuck and be the worst thing ever... BUT, I have been reevaluating my opinions on it.
First off... Direct to DVD release- This sucks, we the fans would DEEPly preffer to watch the long awaited sequel in a cozy theatre were we overpayed the 9+$ to get in and the 12.50$ for a soda and popcorn, BUT... Looking over what that means, all it means is that it isn't going to be a 'big budget' film... And to be 100% honest? The first one wasn't either, It was DAMN good, but it was cheaply done and not advertized to death like 'big budget' movies are anymore. *shrugs* they had One or TWO blue/green screen effects and only minor FX makeup aside from that, and the lovely oh-so-edible actors were all pretty 'new' and hadn't been in many films yet, therefor they were 'cheaper' to cast in the film.

It hurts to say it, but I almost think 'Lost Boys', if rereleased in these times, WOULD be a direct to DVD. *cringes* I can hear the other fans crying out to rip me apart allready, just for saying that. *cringes again*

Anyway, on to my other points I've noticed... The FEW cast members we KNOW are a part of/to blame for this... Directed by P.J. Pesce *cringe* Ok, NOT a good start... Responsable for Dusk til Dawn 3 and the Tremors TV show... Not Good, moving on.
Peter Dashkewytch, First Assistant Director... Looks like mostly TV Series work, but none of it's too bad... 'MacGyver' O.o Huh... 'Highlander' (Not a bad series, cool!), "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction" (I liked that show, it was FUN!), A few episodes of "Stargate SG-1", "The Crow: Stairway to Heaven" Ok, I never saw the series... But... *cringe*, "Dark Angel", 'Battlestar Galactica', "Stargate: Atlantis", And "Blade: The Series" ... Ok, I'll give it to him, HE at least has an idea of what he's doing! ...Even if it's very Nearly all TV Series work. *nods* We can all just hope he locks the main director in a closet somewere and takes over the Movie. LoL.

Hans Rodionoff, One of the 'Writing Credits' - Nearly nothing here... 'The Skulls 2' and a few b-rated badness... Also not good.
On to the Producers...
Rick Benattar - Ok, slightly better... 'The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen' And... Ok, that's kinda it... Meh, could be better, could be worse.
Phillip B. Goldfine - 'Sometimes They Come Back... Again' (never seen it, only the first one, have no idea if it's good), 'Disturbing Behavior' Hmm, not too bad, maybe?, Aside from that it's Action flicks, sequels and a few b-rated ones. Could be worse.
Basil Iwanyk - 'K-19: The Widowmaker' (Wow, This ones' in the wrong field! LoL), 'Laws of Attraction' .... Huh, War movies or Romantic Comedy... Yah, THAT's a good idea... *anime sweatdrop* This is getting silly, what the hell are these people thinking?!
Alison Semenza - http://imdb.com/name/nm0783785/ Ok, I'll just list the IMDB link for this one... I swear half of these are 'Sci-Fi channel origional movies' Or worse! Ick! *hides under a sofa*

This is getting painful... I take it back maybe?
Casting directors!
Lindsey Hayes Kroeger - 'Reindeer Games', 'Joy Ride', 'K-19: The Widowmaker', 'Phone Booth', 'The Matrix Revolutions', and 'The Matrix Reloaded', 'Collateral', 'Superman Returns' and '300' Ok, She knows what she is doing as a CASTING director at least... Maybe we will see some nifty new actors? *shrugs*
David Rapaport - Did nearly all of the same work... 'Phone Booth', 'The Matrix Revolutions', and 'The Matrix Reloaded', 'Raising Helen', 'K-19: The Widowmaker', and '8 Mile'... Also, not to bad... At least we have acceptable CASTING directors...

*shrugs* But what good is a fitting cast if the Script is crap? Who knows...

Oh, and the Location Manager is Ken Brooker... Not sure what that means, but he has Ok taste in 'location' if series like "Kingdom Hospital", "Smallville", or movies like The Butterfly Effect, Earthsea, Underworld: Evolution, or The Last Mimzy have any say...

... O.o So, In short... We will likely have an interesting Cast, and good Location, but if the 'plotline' we have been given is any indicator, the story will Suck... And not in any good ways. *cringe*

They might as well have given Joel the go ahead to do 'Lost girls', Vamp Chicks on rad motorcycles with little to no plot aside from "Don't we look cool and sexy?" would have been infinately better than what it Sounds like we will be getting!

But... I personally can only hope that the 'plot' we have been told of is complete BS and they are keeping the true one secret... Overall, I'm starting to think the sequel will be bad, but not BAD/painfull/eaten alive by fireants bad.

*shrugs* who knows. (And I know I'm gonna get yelled at for saying this.)
It might even be fun... IF we get a fun Cast and neat Location and Sets, Maybe the actors can make something of even a crappy script?
I'm at least going to make a half-hearted attempt at being hopeful... 'Sides, I highly doubt that the 'plot' we have been given Is real, they are going to far too much trouble to keep it 'secret' to let something like that out.

But maybe I'm just being too hopeful?
