11 days till I'm 21. ^-^
Feb. 1st, 2007 01:35 pmYep, 11 more days till this little chickadee turns 21.
Feb 12th ^-^ So 11 days and counting, I'm just starting to get all jittery about it.
Tho I'm still unbelivably torqued about that whole 'Lost Boys 2' thing.
For several reasons.
1: if you are going to make a sequil, Please _Please_ watch the movie and _KNOW_ you're mythos, _KNOW_ the world you are trying to re-create!
The guys that are doing this CLEARLY don't have a fucking clue about the world they are trying to play in, and for those out there that have not seen the Lost Boys DVD special features I'll tell you why... The Vampires in 'The Lost Boys' have that nasty little 'no running water' drawback that few vampires do in Vampire movies anymore. (Too much of a bitch to work with)
So thusly, Surfing Vampires = NO! Would not, could not happen. Even if 'But they are -really- good and don't fall in the water' Have you ever _been_ surfing? You STILL get soaked, even IF you don't fall in. *shakes her head in discust*
2: If you are going to go to the trouble of making a sequil after _ALL_ these years (20 Years), Make a BIG thing about it, none of this 'direct to DVD' crap. _Especally_ if WB is just doing it for the money (alot of fans have been claiming this) 80s FX cost pennies to do now a days! Stick to the exact feel and cenimatography (SP?) and FX of the first then release it to Theatres! I know I would buy at least 3 tickets myself IF ONLY THEY PUT SOME EFFORT INTO IT!
Seriously, People. You have a pretty big fanbase to work with, much bigger than most hollywood hotshots probbly think.
Take the time, Watch the movie. Check the fanbase online! I've got alot of great online friends that would love to share their POV with someone important, hell, I would! Try and _talk_ to some of the origional cast, and again, copy the FX and cenimatography, copy over the exact feel and Hollywood would find something neat. they would find that they just spent meer -Pennies- in comparison to 'big budget' flicks and got back, easily 4 times the $$ they put into it.
Seriously! Make it as memorable as the first, I dare ya! And if you do it right, I _Sware_ I'll see it in the theatre at Least 3 times, not to mention what they will make off the DVD and any merchandise!
I would seriously freak in a happy way to see good Lost Boys merchandise, especally if they add some 'new' merchandise for us fans of the origional Lost Boys flick. (there isn't enough merchandise, I own the VHS, DVD and my beloved Lost Boys t-shirt as well as a poster, that's it. I need more! *laughes*)
Uugh, not to mention the fact that I DEEPLY am dreading the idea of what their 'new' ideas of a 'Good Horror Flick' will do to my beloved fandom. *cringes* I have not seen a _SINGLE_ GOOD Horror Flick from Hollywood in the past 4 years, all we've been getting is this 'slasher flick' crap, and that (to me) is _NOT_ a Horror flick, that's pointless gore with no plot were you Want the characters to die horrably, just because you hate them so much. *looks annoyed*
I miss the days of Horror movies that made me sleep with the lights on because they screwed with my mind so well...
