Also, Kinda in closing, I re-post something I posted on a GaiaOnline Forum along these lines...post edits are in {}'s
"I like {Love to be honest} Both series, actually,
However, Poor Laurell needs to SOO take a break for a bit, her latest Anita Blake book was very rushed and felt like it was almost getting mushed together with her Meredith series...
Anita Blake use to have such GREAT stories {and Plots}, but the last book {Danse Macabre} (And actually it was showing in the previous book {Incubus Dreams} as well a bit) was WAY too rushed and.. Well, Generally kinda iffy...
As to her books being pointless smut at this point
1: I read that daily And love it. {Just prefer my Anita Blake to have a bit more substance and Plot, kinda like LKH insists is there, the 'Stuff that makes you think'}
and 2: The Merry series was suppose to be that way and the Anita series has been heading in that direction since mid book 1 (at least in my OP...{At least that's what I got out of it..})
Love the books still though, I just feel that Laurell needs to take a break/vacation for 4-6 months, rethink and Re-Read (!{ESPECIALLY Re-Read her books! the thing that irked me most about the last book was that she mentioned stuff that both NEVER happened or that happened COMPLETELY differently! Re-read the Stuff between Anita and Veronica Simms, especially! *sigh*}) all her own books and then get back to us...
Just my 2 cents..."
I can only hope this is all because she is being overworked, I mean seriously, 2 220+ page novels in under a year? Sit back and RELAX...
As if the attitude in her Blog post didn't reflect that enough. I think she's probably wound so tight she may pop, and I don't want or like that in my authors, it makes them cranky and stressed and in turn they produce FAR sub-Par books, and that makes me all Emo, sad, and Unloved (Or at least that the author does not give a shit beyond making another penny)...
